Fish Have No Legs

In 2023 alone, more than 3,000 people have lost their lives attempting to cross the Mediterranean.

Clusters of men, women, children—and each one is a story. No certainty, a boat as fragile as paper, a cruel sea. Endless hours, high waves, the heart pounding deafeningly, the cacophony of voices, signals in the sky—perhaps visions, perhaps dreams. A thermal blanket is often the entry into the new world, each person's gaze meeting another's, caught between the disbelief of having survived an odyssey and the anxiety for a future still far from materializing and of which there is no certainty.

This project speaks of the odysseys of our times and the dignity of human beings in search of a more acceptable life. It does so by trying to urge each of us to imagine how it could be for us.
