"My desire to photograph is an expression of an instinct. It is a reaction to reality, a physical reaction like enthusiasm or fear.
Art, like photography, is not objective, and so I also want to say my part. I want—and I am aware of this—to influence the perception of a fact, of a story, through my gaze.I want to tell the story of the human being, the greatest and most wonderful source of emotions. Each person is unique and different.

As an author, this makes me free, free to experiment with new languages based on metaphor and imagination. The challenge is not just to make the viewer pause before one of my photos, but to make them reflect and ask what I may have intentionally left out of the scene, what I may have protected myself from, or what I sought to protect them from. All of this is my way of saying,  I was there, and I did not pass by indifferently!"
